This man built the first art gallery in Los Angeles (Blanchard Hall), was the first president of the Hollywood Bowl Association as well as the American Opera Association and the president of the Central Development Association (one of his primary contributions was the planning of LA's new city hall)---along with dozens of other city functions, committees, boards, etc. And, he has the absolutely coolest grave stone in Hollywood, which was designed by Lloyd Wright, designer of the Hollywood Bowl Shell.
