ARCHIVE~ BENEATH LOS ANGELES |
In a very minor update, Laurel & Hardy are now together again on the Famous page. Stan Laurel's grave at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, was one of the original 50 pictures we went on line with a year and a half ago. Then something happened. When we went to our new domain at Beneath Los Angeles.com, he sort of disappeared. Nobody noticed until we added Oliver Hardy with the most recent major update earlier this month. Well, we couldn't have one without the other any longer, so I rummaged through my FLHH photo collection and found Stanley again. While looking through those photos, I also uncovered my Ozzie and Harriet pics, as well as Ernie Kovacs, the TV pioneer who brought the infant medium into it's own with his incredible imagination. All have been added for your enjoyment.
You may wonder why there are two pictures of Oliver Hardy's grave. One is his actual burial location in an urn garden at Valhalla in North Hollywood. The other is a plaque placed on a nearby wall by the L&H fan club called the Sons of the Desert in 1977, 20 years after his death.
A small update, a short newsletter. Watch for the next big one in a month or so. Thanks, as always, for your interest in BLA. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome.
