Ray Raymond was the actor beaten to death by Paul Kelly, who was having an affair with Raymond's wife, Dorothy Mackaye. Kelly and Mackaye spent time in San Quentin for the murder, then married upon their release. They remained married until her death in a car crash in 1940.
