Matthew "Stymie" Beard

Unmarked in this pauper's grave at Evergreen Cemetery lie the remains of the Little Rascals' "Stymie" who died of a stroke at the age of 56. His trademark bowler hat was a gift from an admiring Stan Laurel, his colleague at the Hal Roach Studios in Culver City.



27 years after being buried here and unmarked, Matthew "Stymie" Beard, Jr, is now marked thanks to a $500 gift from a fan in New York.
